We work with GROUPON LATAM designing and developing a new communication channel, to strengthen the relationship with existing customers and to reach new segments.
The result was Groubot: a virtual assistant fueled by artificial intelligence that substantially improves the customer experience of shoppers in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Mexico and Brazil.
Inventures work helped us to find a solution that solves problems of our clients and gives us a strategic competitive advantage in Latin America. The comprehensiveness of its speed, business acumen and empathy with users, allowed to achieve a much better chatbot than what exists in the market
Felipe Henriquez – co-founder GROUPON LATAM
After interviewing Groupon executives and users, we defined the design principles that would guide the solution: the interface should be intuitive, users could choose when and what promotions receive and the content should be easily shared in social networks. With these clear principles, we prototyped a virtual assistant with natural language processing (NLP).
The virtual assistant delivers personalized offers with the content and frequency that each user chooses. In addition, it offers new features valued by customers, such as the notification of a promotion that is about to expire or the announcement of a Groupon that is again available. These features feed the frequent interaction and drive the development of Groubot as a primary channel.
Artificial intelligence allows the assistant to learn with each interaction and to add the slang of each country to its vocabulary. In addition, the development in Node.js + MongoDB ecosystem allows to handle the +250,000 live offers that Groupon has in Latin America and answer complex queries like restaurants close to me in milliseconds.
